Meme: Embarrassing Sandwiches
Sep. 22nd, 2005 03:06 pmActually, the meme is "post your unusual, embarassing, or favorite sandwiches".
Peanut butter and green olives on an onion bagel. I've had that several times in my life, when there was no jelly or jam available.
Now for a favorite: Dan's Dagwood of Doom. Last time I made one of these was well before Z was born. I think I may have photographed it. It starts with a length of good, wide French bread that overspills the plate on both ends. On one side: ketchup, mayo, black pepper. On the other side: deli mustard and an oil-based Italian vinegret. In between: Boston lettuce, Hebrew National salami sliced very thinly, roast beef, pastrami, corned beef, turkey ham, and tomatoes. Serve with potato salad and good half-sour dills. Nominally serves 1. Realistically could feed four.
