A good day

It is almost 10 PM; I have been up since 2:30 AM. I don't know why I have been granted this superpower, but it's not all that exciting. Perhaps I will go to sleep by midnight.

Today I did lots of useful things at work. I have the respect of my peers and my management.

The MBTA stopped me for directions. No kidding, there I was walking down from 1 Mem Drive to the Kendall T, when a bus labelled "OUT OF SERVICE" hailed me. The driver opened the door and asked where he was and if he could get to Boston this way? I assured him that he could hardly avoid going over the bridge into Boston.

Eliz and E and I went to Harvard Square. We stopped at Pho Pasteur for dinner, except that Pho Pasteur has changed its name to Le's. Same ownership, same food. All good. Z stayed at home with his grandparents. After a light repast, we crossed the street to Finale, where we spent rather more on dessert than we had on dinner. "Temptation for Two" includes flourless chocolate cake with coffee sauce (the best), a praline crust under hazelnut-strawberry gelato, a chocolate mousse layer cake pyramid, a molten chocolate cake, and a half-dozen micro-cookies plus a demitasse of milk to dip them in. And we shared a Hot Chocolate Finale: Burdick-quality hot chocolate with Bailey's and butterscotch schnapps.

I'm still awake.
