It's good to have friends.
Jun. 19th, 2007 09:48 pmSunday, shortly after I woke up, my CPAP malfunctioned and gave an error message indicating potential physical damage. It did not go away on power cycle. I called the medical supply company and left a message.
Nothing happened. I left a second message.
That night I got about 2.5 hours of sleep, in increments no more than 30-40 minutes.
I left another message this morning, and asked Eliz to follow up. She got in contact with them, discovered that they hadn't a clue that there were any messages for them, and couldn't schedule their techs anyway. Each tech makes up their own schedule.
Around 6:30PM a tech called and said that he could be out here between 3 and 4 PM tomorrow (Wednesday).
I panicked.
Eliz, however, had a good idea. "Don't we know several people with CPAPs? Perhaps one of them has a spare?"
Sure enough, the first person I called had a spare. I now dub Liam St. Liam "preserver of my sanity"
Thanks, Liam. (He even delivered!).
