Quality fiction writing
Nov. 17th, 2008 12:53 pmHere's my standard for quality fiction writing:
I'm sitting on a bench in Kendall Square at lunchtime, trying to get some sun. The air is distinctly chilly -- mayber 45F. I'm facing into the sun, and the glare is doing lousy things for the screen of the Nokia N800 that I'm using as an ebook reader.
Under these circumstances, anyone who can transport me into a scene well enough for me to not notice the passing of fifteen minutes is doing a great job.
