_The Steel Remains_, Richard K. Morgan

Everything, you see, is motivated or expressed by sex, and everything is basically politics and power. Insofar as Morgan makes this assertion, he does so early and often. In between, there is violence.
I believe this quote from near the end sums it up:

"The thing about fucking is, it's a lot less wear and tear than trying to kill each other with bits of steel. And it's the sort of thing that does tend to lead to confidences and favors if you play it right. Ask any woman, she'll tell you that. Unless of course your experiences in that direction are limited, as, come to think of it, yours probably are, to whores and rape."

Last bit: being strictly homosexual is a marker for being a good guy. You can't trust the few bisexuals, and being straight doesn't seem to mean anything.

The tools provided for managing virtual machines in Debian Lenny are fully up to the standards that I expect for first-class software in Debian.

Specifically, kvm, qemu, and the libvirt series of tools including virt-manager, virsh and virt-viewer are all good. If an AMD CPU supports virtualization extensions, it's easy to add kernel support; if an Intel CPU supports them *and the motherboard BIOS does too* then that is similarly easy. No cookie for whoever at Intel decided to require special motherboard support for on-chip instructions.

Now I need to work out some odd networking issues and I may be fairly happy.
