Sequel to _The Dragons of the Cuyahoga_, and similarly set in post Portal-to-Fantasyland Cleveland. It appears that the two are soon to be reprinted as an omnibus. This book is even more of a hardboiled mystery novel, taking place in a span of about 48 hours or so. There's an unusual but limited look at the lives of dwarves, some weird explanations of angels and demons in a non-theistic magical universe, and the usual easy, unpretentious prose telling a decent story.
People who like Glen Cook's Garrett stories might like these, or vice versa.
