Game variant
Jan. 11th, 2010 04:46 amWe started playing more games around the house this winter -- both boys are starting to grok rules-as-a-means-of-having-fun. One of the new games is Kids of Carcassone. It's a simple reduction of Carcassonne ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carcassonne_%28board_game%29 ) in which all the tiles have roads on all four sides, and internally allow some combination of straight line, right angle turn, or road block. Many of them also have potential people on them. When a road path has been blocked on both ends, all the potential people become real people, scoring for their color(s).
We invented a slight variation on this which makes it slightly harder but also more fun for 4 player groups: no road can be blocked unless there is more than one color being reified.
