Mar. 13th, 2010 09:57 pmThe cheapest new LCD monitor you can buy at NewEgg is $110, plus $10 shipping, so $120.
The cheapest somewhat decent LCD monitor is $110 plus $14 shipping.
The very decent LCD monitor that I went looking for in the first place is $140, no shipping charge.
$20 is all that separates the bottom of the barrel, presumably a very low margin product, from something that I would be perfectly happy to stare at. Yes, the nice one is on sale... but not very much on sale.
You can spend a bit more, but it's only really worth spending much more for a specialty need -- extremely large, extremely high resolution.
