Tonight we had dinner
Feb. 5th, 2011 10:24 pmOK, it's a rare night when we don't have dinner. Tonight, however, was Chinese, for us and a few friends. How many friends was up in the air until the last minute, but we didn't do too badly.
The menu:
potstickers
scallion pancakes
beef with bok choy, mushrooms and bean sprouts
chicken in a sweet sauce
szechuan green beans
vegetable lo mein
broccoli (for the kids, mostly)
jasmine rice
The two secrets of scallion pancakes: first, use about 1/3 rice flour, 2/3 all-purpose. Second, let the dough sit at least two hours, three or four is better.
