The oldest book on my To Be Read list. It's a Doctor-Who universe book, not featuring any of the Doctors. Instead, it is centered on Bernice S. Summerfield, a time-traveling archaeologist. This one is a loose sequel to Ben Aaronovitch's The Also People. The People are an expy of Banks' Culture, only they tend to sit in their utopian Dyson sphere rather than mess about with worldships.
