A novella which is intermediate between Hardwired (the orbital corps destroy the Earth) and Voice of the Whirlwind (Earth has nice parts to visit if you've got the money, but space is where everything is happening) and thus a thousand years or more before Aristoi (sorry about the Earth, we won't do that again, yay FTL makes things better and worse).
Contains most pre-2000 cyberpunk tropes, because WJW invented half of them and gleefully borrowed the rest. Morals don't enter into it.
