note to Eclipse Phase designers: titanium is used in UDT/SEAL knives because it is (a) uncorroded by seawater and *B*<==== THIS ONE ESPECIALLY =====> NONMAGNETIC.

So using titanium as the key identifier of "affected by magnetic fields" is wrongity wrong.

Well, it IS a metallic conductor, and as such WILL be affected by magnetic fields (if it weren't we couldn't do EMAT NDE on it) but it is not a magnetic material in the sense that iron and cobalt and nickel are.
