Mid-morning I took a big yawn, leaned back in my chair -- and a thunderbolt struck just behind me and knocked me over backwards.

The chairback's two support arms had suffered spontaneous total structural failure.

Our office manager took a look at it and said "Let's buy you a chair that fits. Go look online." So I spent part of lunchtime finding heavy-duty office chairs, presented him with a selection of four, and asked for advice. He suggested http://www.chairconsultants.com/proddetail.asp?prod=SturdyChair&from=1 as the winner, and so that's now on order.

I spent the next fifteen minutes in adrenaline panic.
