I have just got to the point (about 75% of the way) in the new Wild Cards book, _Fort Freak_, in which I expect the ghastly violence is going to come out.

Up until now, it has been remarkably coherent, plotful, with truly amazing results for a collaboration on such a large scale.

I don't think I want to read what comes next, though, It will probably involve torture, murder, maiming and rape. So now it's time to put it down and look at something else until I can get to sleep.

History continued.) Editor is George R.R. Martin, the format is a novel made out of short stories and novellae by a dozen different authors braided together.
