I hopped off the bus, started walking up the street towards home. Along the way I found a sharpened stake on the sidewalk.

The actual thought which flashed through my head: I should add that to inventory in case there are vampires later on.

It's pretty clear that I can have two short or one long weapon active, one slot ready, one at a small speed penalty, and up to fifty pounds at no encumbrance in a backpack.
