Delicious. The dal needed salt. For some reason Z was back in "I want something different" mode, objecting to onions, tomatoes and dal. He got a bowl of lamb meat and liquid from the curry over white beans and rice. He liked that enough to go back for thirds.

The amounts above would be enough for about 4 adults eating a big dinner, along with rice and some garlic naan.
