Big turn out at the polls today

Our polling place is the music room of a local high school. Normally there is, at most, 1-2 people in line ahead of us.

Today the double line (segregated by street) went across the room, out the door, and down the hall another 20-30 people. The town clerk was directing people to the lines, and commented that he had never seen a turnout like this.

That wasn't the town clerk, that was our city councilman. :)

I am puzzled as to why we don't vote at the same place when you live closer to where I vote than I do. Perhaps it is because you live on the other side of your street.

Dad and I walked in. He had to wait for me to vote first. :)
