Consider: he's pale, wears black, is generally found indoors. He is unnaturally charismatic, projecting a line-of-sight reality distortion field.

He heads an evil cult that claims to be good. The products are addictive, over-priced, and under-powered, except when way-over-priced and over-powered. Style is more important than anything else.

Clearly a vampire.

Black Ribboners

It has occurred to me that Pratchett's Black Ribboners are more dangerous to society, over the long run, than ordinary vampires. Consider: they're super-strong, smarter than humans, with super senses—and effectively immortal. How long before they dominate society, or at least own most of it?
