12 issues of Avengers/FF/X-Men crossover in which only the narrator ever ends a sentence in a period. The only legitimate superheroic punctuation appears to be an ellipsis, a question mark, or (most popular) an exclamation mark.

Now my ears hurt.

Though it got a bad rap at the time, and was the harbinger of much badness to come, i actually thought that the last few issues were one of the better Doctor Doom stories ever.

Ah, yes -- the moment at which my respect for Marvel dropped through the floor. IIRC, it was the first comic to actually get me to write a letter to the editor, because I was so annoyed with it. When they later said, in the letter page, that they had received nothing but favorable mail, I suspect my indignant splutterings could be heard from New York...
