_Welcome to the Jungle_, Jim Butcher (art by Ardian Syaf)
A Harry Dresden short story, but done as a graphic novel. The television series didn't work. They cast people who didn't even look like their descriptions. This, on the other hand, works.
If you don't like Harry Dresden, don't bother. If you do, or you're a comic geek who hasn't read the books, this is pretty good.

Date: 2009-03-04 07:32 pm (UTC)I also liked the Harry character on TV. It took Butcher about seven books before I stopped regularly screaming at Harry-in-print to not be an idiot. Now the books are getting REALLY good, though - Harry's actually learned something, and is coping much more intelligently.
He wasn't in the TV series, but I also really like Gentleman Johnny.
By the way - have you read Butcher's ALERA series? Not at all like the Dresden books, but my lord and I have been enjoying it greatly. Not enough to buy in hardcover, though - we're waiting for the latest book to show up in paperback.
