I tend to wear it in a ponytail or braided except on special occasions, because it tangles far too easily if I don't pay attention.

Prior to 1994ish, I wore my hair medium-short, parted on one side. It was extremely boring.

About that time, I glanced at the cover of _The Thurb Revolution_, by Alexei Panshin, which features the hero with long hair in a ponytail. That was what inspired to me to start growing it.

In 1997 there was a brief attempt to look like Marcus from Babylon 5. That didn't work. Since then, I've been growing it more or less continuously, with a trim every few months to stop split ends.

The hair may be a little bit too long right now... or I need a better way to keep it from tangling.

Of course, there is always the pleasure of having someone else brush it to keep it from tangling. The one thing I really truly miss about having long hair is having it brushed and braided and otherwise played with. The fuzz at the nape of the neck just isn't the same.

You do have lovely hair.
