_Designated Targets_, John Birmingham. Sequel to _Weapons of Choice_, in which a 2040's US naval flotilla is transported back a century to the middle of WWII. This book seems to suffer from middle-of-the-trilogy syndrome: while we get character development and some battles and some interesting speculation on the culture clash between the effete liberal future Navy (no racism, no sexism, no smoking) and the ultraconservative locals, Nothing Really Happens in this book. I expect there's another one coming through.

I was trying to understand how you could get so much reading done. Then I remembered - you take public transit.

Yup. Apart from that, I get about 10 minutes while I'm eating breakfast and 20-30 minutes most nights while falling asleep.

Oh, and once I'm up to speed I typically read fiction at about 100-120 pages per hour.
