Like a bad credit record, sleep debt is eventually written off. The great thing about sleep debt is that you can't carry seven years of it around with you. In my case, it appears to have been about seven days of recovery.
I now seem to require about 7 to 7.5 hours of sleep. This means that going to sleep at 9:30PM, even if I am quite tired, can cause the unsettling perfect waking at 4:00AM. Like, say, this morning. Perhaps I can timeshift it a bit later, and go to sleep at 11 and wake at 6. That would fit nicely...
