A short, self-contained novel that borrows from the tradition of _Podkayne of Mars_ and _Between Planets_ and then extends it nicely.
Revealing almost anything beyond the bare outlines of the beginning would constitute massive spoilage, so let me just say: first person narrator who grows from near-adult to adult; several well-drawn characters; a little handwavium but nothing clearly physically impossible; several really good plot twists.
