Books Read

I have to admit that I found Kloos' first series to get progressively less interesting after the second book or so; this is a very pleasant change: a new universe, new characters.
He who controls the spice controls the universe. In this case, the government that controls palladium controls the economies of five settled planets in one solar system, some thousand-plus years into the future. There's no obvious FTL drive, though there is an FTL internet. Four narrative strands weave together... and there's definitely no story-end at the end of the book. If you like your stories complete, better wait.
