first broken bone

I slipped and fell on ice (yes, on the sidewalk; no, I wasn't reading, nor even listening to music) on my way to work yesterday. I managed a decent backwards roll, but I'm still grateful for the balaclava Eliz made for me -- three layers of warmth and protection from winds and sidewalks. On my way down I bent my right hand somewhere. I wish I had been wearing gloves.
Anyway, the tip of my right ring finger is fractured in at least one spot, maybe several. Going to go to the clinic to get it checked out this afternoon. Typing is... frustrating.

(For what little it's worth, the actual break in my thumb healed more quickly than the hairline fracture in my leg. I think I wore a thumb splint for two weeks, and was still able to fight at Pennsic six weeks later. That's when I learned to fight left-handed; I wanted to put the recently-injured right thumb behind a shield just in case. Learned I was better as a lefty.)
