Finished: _Invincible: Family Matters_ by Robert Kirkman. I will quote:

"Okay, son. Here's the deal... you're getting older, becoming a man. I just want to make sure you know what to expect. Acne. You're going to have to wash your face more often. You're going to start to grow hair in strange new places. Your voice will start to crack, and eventually change. You're going to start to look at girls in a whole new light. There's a good chance that you're going to start to develop super powers."

"Wow."

The intro volume for the superhero Invincible. Totally non-ironic. Fun. Refreshing. Recommended.

Definitely a current favorite. But as noted above, the lighthearted tone isn't consistent -- the story will get quite a bit darker, at least some of the time. It's doesn't turn consistently grim-n-gritty dark, but it's not always fun.

Really, that's one of the things I like about the book: it's very human. Sometimes happy, sometimes less so, but life keeps moving forward...
