Aug. 1st, 2010 09:43 pmTonight I read the first chapter of Steven Gould's _Wildside_ to the boys, after rejecting _Jumper_ as having motivations and relationships they weren't going to be able to understand yet.

I am surprised at Wildside, though--it was a bit scary for me when I read it at age...urm...26? Perhaps being pinned by hyena is scarier when you can really visualize it happening.

They were quite interested in Kip's adventures in _Have Spacesuit..._, some of which are pretty scary. E has asked for a smart, adventurous protagonist with hair color matching his in the next book we read -- I'll have to look around.
