The Droid has a set of animations it uses in various transitions -- between screens of an application, between applications, when shutting down or starting up.

Since one can disable them, I did. That's what one does to preserve battery life and reduce cpu usage and so forth, right? And it must be faster.

I re-enabled them yesterday, because I didn't remember what they looked like.

What they look like is faster. I don't think it's actually faster by the wall clock, but having something to look at on the screen for a half to three-quarters of a second tricks my brain into thinking things are faster.

Weird.
