_Singularity's Ring_, Paul Melko
The first post-cyberpunk Heinlein juvenile, albeit not very juvenile. It's the growing-up adventure of a five-way group mind in the post-Singularity, post-apocalyptic future. Wow. This is apparently Melko's first novel, which strongly suggests a talent on the order of Swanwick. Reasonably hopeful, too; it might be interesting to compare with Hinz's Paratwa trilogy, which uses some of the same tropes in completely different directions.
