_Bloodsucking Fiends_, Christopher Moore
_Dragon and Herdsman_, Timothy Zahn

Non-angsty vampire-in-the-modern-world novel. V. funny. If you like Christopher Moore, you will like this one; if you like this one, you will like other books by Moore. So there.

The Zahn is book 4 of N in a YA theoretically-SF universe, but it's about as much SF as Star Wars is. Warning, biology and physics go on vacation and seem unlikely to return. This one doesn't make much sense without the previous book, and it ends on a (highly predictable) revelation that means that book 5 will be completely unreadable without this one. OTOH, there's a very Heinlein-juvenile feel to the series (more _Citizen of the Galaxy_ or _The Star Beast_ than anything else) which keeps me reading.

I love Christopher Moore and nearly bought this at Arisia this weekend, but I think I'm going to wait for the paperback instead. Unless this is one of his older ones. Does he have multiple vampire novels?

Ah yes, upon further reflection, the book I saw was called "Bite Me" if I remember correctly.
