Has anyone written a fantasy in which female witches gain power at menarche, after giving birth, and at menopause? And/or male witches gain power at puberty, fatherhood and, i dunno, going gray or bald?

Variations might include changing powers at each stage, or perhaps powers starting at birth being linked to non-typical sexuality.

The trilogy of times you mention for menstruating folks hearkens back to the Fates, so perhaps a tie-in there.

I'd suspect someone like Marion Zimmer Bradley or like.

Might be bending "witch" a bit but maybe some interesting intersection with the Hindu idea that you spend your life building and supporting your family, and then in your old age you run off into the hills to become a (powerful?) ascetic?
