(volumes 1-3 of the Mirror Man trilogy subseries of The Infected, by P.S. Power)

The fact that I like something does not make it objectively good. Power might actually be a collective, for all I know: books are turned out at high speed, with poor editing, frequently terrible dialogue, seriously odd swerves around sexism and very odd sexual issues... and I keep reading them. Really high speed: roughly 100 short-to-midlength novels in the last 7-8 years.

The books take place in a messy multiverse with asynchronous time scales, wildly varying histories, and seem to be building towards a multiuniversal apocalypse but it's possible that already happened and has been averted.

That is incredibly handy. I find myself being able to read less and less on the subway, not because of movement but because past a certain point of crowding it actually becomes very difficult to hold and read a book without bonking someone in the nose :)

So I've been using that time for audio books which are their own kind of pleasure since I really enjoy consuming non fiction that way.
