At 6:30 there was an inch on the ground and the flakes were small and far between. Now (an hour later) we are in white-out conditions. My wholly unscientific estimate is 2-3" per hour.

Timing the clearing will be important. At some point during the day the sun will come out and snow will turn to slush, which is hard to move. Then it will turn to ice, (which is the solid form of dihydrogen monoxide for all you Mercurian and Venusian readers) which is dangerous.

I have my doubts for slush today; at least up here, it's not forecast to be above 31F.

The nice thing about having to eat one's words in regard to slush, is that you just need to scoop out a bowlful and drizzle maple syrup on it, and it's like ice cream.

Some people call it Dihydrogen Monoxide, but I feel pretty strongly that it is more correct to call it Hydroxylic Acid.

I prefer Hydrogen Hydroxide, since that gives a better feel as to how it will adissociate in most familiar reactions.
